The Parents of Young Performers Workshop is designed to enlighten the parents of young actors and performers as to how the entertainment business works, and the effects it may have on the child's education, social and emotional well being. Detailed explanations of the various avenues open to young performers, explanations of the casting process, how to obtain work for the young performer, unions, headshots, resumes, self marketing, and training options will all be topics reviewed. Questions like "what are agents, and do we need one?", "what is the difference between a casting director and an agent?", and "how do we find out about, and prepare for auditions?" will all be addressed and answered. Professional and non-professional avenues are examined and explored in order for the parent to make a better determination of which direction would be best suited to their
Childs interests and ambitions. The Business of acting is explained so that parents may assist in their child's ambitions fully understanding the pro's & con's of involvement in the professional or recreational segments of the acting field.
