Acting for Commercials explores
the technique and business of acting, and auditioning for television
commercials. Commercial acting requires particular skills and business sense
unique to its form. Each participant will refine his or her acting skills
through the use of commercial copy; both on camera and in simulated commercial
audition settings. Discussion will focus on the business needs of the
advertiser, and the relationship between those needs and the actors performance
to achieve the goals and concerns of the business they are intended to
represent. To be successful in acquiring commercial work the actor must have
knowledge and skill beyond simply "looking the part". Acting for Commercials
